Epic Vegan Eats in New York

New York blows the rest of the world out of the water when it comes to epic vegan food. They have everything your little heart could desire – sweets, snacks, casual bites, fine dining. My time in New York is always spent wishing my stomach was big enough to fit more meals in each day. I’ve pulled together a list of New York eats that I’ve decided are the BEST! Best for whichever situation you’re in. This is how a day in New York would look for me if I had a bottomless stomach.

Best for ACAI – Loco Coco
This is a well deserved accolade for the Upper East Side’s Loco Coco. As well as prepping the best acai in New York, they also make marvellous smoothies and raw balls. Good portions, great peanut butter. It’s near central park so it’s an easy addition to your tourist activities.

Best for ICECREAM – Van Leeuwen Artisan Ice Cream
This icecream parlour is best for dessert, especially when you’re with a bunch of non-vegans. They stock a plentiful selection of vegan flavours, and use a variety of bases so you’re not just stuck with the usual coconut. They also have several locations in some of the most popular neighbourhoods – bonus points for convenience!

Best for ON THE GO – By Chloe
by CHLOE restaurants have popped up all over town, and for good reason – they are AMAZING. I would describe by CHLOE as fast food meets cute café. They have an array of salads, burgers, smoothies and treats, all of which are mouth-wateringly tasty. This is actually my #1 go to every single time I’m in NYC.

Best for PIZZA – Two Boots
I used to hate going for nights out in New York when my friends would grab a slice of pizza on the way home. Now all I do is steer them towards a Two Bootsshopfront and I can join in. They have several vegan options – perfect after a late night out.

Best for CASUAL DINING – Caravan of Dreams
This is East Village’s pumping vegan restaurant. Caravan of Dreams is decorated in a Bohemian outfit and is SO CUTE! They offer inventive vegan dishes that are kosher and organic, and also have a tonne of raw options. To top it off, they have live music most nights.

Best for DATE NIGHT – Nix AND Blossom
I couldn’t choose just one! I love both these restaurants. Nix serves up a delicious modern twist on Mediterranean food and has an awesome vibe; Blossom is quieter but has a vegan menu to die for! Both make excellent choices for date night!
